FYI: Upon reflection, I have updated my Philly Tea Party count to 1500 participants. I purposely low-balled the number until I could get a better sense of the crowd size via photos and video.
My blogging buddy, Ed Driscoll, has put together a video review of the July 4th San Jose Tea Party. Ed has some serious green screening going in this video - check it out:
You can check out his blog, Ed Driscoll.com for more links of Tea Party coverage. Can we now call the Tea Party movement a 'surge'?
In response to the racist allegations, John Duesler, an Obama organizer and president of Valley Swim Club presented this statement:
The Valley Club is deeply troubled by the recent allegations of racism, which are completely untrue.
We had originally agreed to invite the camps to use our facility, knowing full well that the children from the camps were from multi-ethnic backgrounds. Unfortunately, we quickly learned that we underestimated the capacity of our facilities and realized that we could not accommodate the number of children from these camps. All funds were returned to the camps and we will re-evaluate the issue at a later date to determine whether it can be feasible in the future.
Our Valley Club deplores discrimination in any form, as is evidenced by our multi-ethnic and diverse membership. Whatever comments may or may not have been made by an individual member is an opinion not shared by The Valley Club Board.
This whole incident is tinged with racial bigotry. I would not accuse Duesler or writers for the Daily Beast of bigotry, but their actions certainly are.
West Chester's own Colin Hannah appeared on Fox News with Megan Kelly to discuss his organization, Let Freedom Ring, and their project to have politicians sign a pledge to read the bills they are required to vote upon.
WASHINGTON – Senate Republican Conference Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) announced today a new, live, online show – “Senate Doctors” – broadcasting here every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:00 p.m. Eastern time. The first show will air Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.

The show will focus on policy discussions, with constituents sharing their questions, stories, concerns, and comments about health care proposals being debated in Congress.

"It is a shame that in this environment that we are taking veterans' benefits from them and using them as a political football in a budget battle," Rep. Rob Kauffman, R-Chambersburg, said. Barbin, who gave an impassioned plea for the bill and its requirement for a study by the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs in consultation with those who would be affected before various types of veterans' facilities could be closed. Barbin said such cuts should not be viewed from a partisan perspective, saying that the state should keep its promises to its veterans. "This isn't a Republican issue or a Democratic issue; it's an American issue," he said, urging his audience to get definitive answers from their state representatives and state senators about their stand on the cuts.
Can Pennsylvanian's afford this 'change'? Recall in 2005, Rendell made this statement when resisting Bush Administration budget adjustments:
“During this time of war, it is absolutely the wrong time for our federal government to step back from any of its commitment to our veterans,” Rendell said. “To do so would be penny-wise but pound-foolish.”
When questioned in D.C. about stimulus results in Pennsylvania, Rendell responded by saying 'thousands' of jobs have been created - while redirecting stimulus dollars to pad our welfare rolls. Thanks to Rendell, it was more comfortable for people to remain on welfare in Pennsylvania than to become a productive, responsible tax paying - job creating citizens. Does that sound like a good thing for tax payers in Pennsylvania?
President Obama is growing government outrageously, and it's immoral and it's uneconomic, his plan that he tries to sell America. His plan to "put America on the right track" economically, incurring the debt that our nation is incurring, trillions of dollars that we're passing on to our kids, expecting them to pay off for us, is immoral and doesn't even make economic sense. So his growth of government agenda needs to be ratcheted back, and it's going to take good people who have the guts to stand up to him, stand up to him and debate policy, not personalities, not partisan politics, but policy to effect the change that we need there
Washington Post: U.S. spending in perspective. Take a good look at items F and G:
This is NOT factoring Obama care, Global Poverty Tax (.7% of our GDP) and a potential second spending bill that the Dems are polling.
Has the Democrat "Stimulus" done its job? President Obama thinks so. House Republicans offered Real Solutions for a Real Recovery.
Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to ask Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz (D-Pa) to name ONE 'shovel ready' project in Philadelphia County during a telephone conference. She could not name any, but assured me that there were 'hundreds' scheduled. Scrambling for an example, she pointed out that our SEPTA stations will be spruced up thanks to the spending bill. The problem with that is SEPTA already budgets for maintenance of the stations.
In a television interview Sunday, Vice President Joe Biden left the door open for a “second stimulus” that some economists think could be necessary, and a couple of polls on Monday suggested why that could be a heavy lift: Voters say they’re very concerned about the deficit and dislike the idea of more spending. ..... In a survey presented to the Aspen Institute last week, pollster Doug Schoen found that, by 56 percent to 37 percent, the public is opposed to the notion that government “should spend money to stimulate the national economy, even if it means increasing the budget deficit.”
It is okay, our financial future is in the hands of people who have trouble spelling Obama's first name:

Fausta, one of the most fashionable bloggers I know, discovered Britain's MI6 chief is married to the stupidest woman on earth. Wonder if she is related to Hillary?
It was a busy weekend, and I was remiss on posting my 'Sunday With Ferris' post so here it is a day late but just as good!
I'm in the process of uploading the videos of Philly's Tea Party at Independence Hall which will be shown at the Dallas Tea Party.
UPDATE: Three videos from Philly's Tea Party at Independence Mall were featured at the Dallas Tea Party! The Texans had the pleasure of meeting Rep. Curt Schroder, Talk Show host Dom Giordano and the assembled patriots in Philly.
UPDATE:
Rep. Curt Schroder's message to the Dallas Tea Party which was broadcast in Dallas and on Breitbart TV:
The July 4th Tea Parties have gotten off to an early start - Instapundit is reporting 5,000 patriots attended the Marietta, GA Tea Party and 4,000 patriots at the Cobb County Tea Party. The Houston Tea Party organizers estimate 5-10,000 patriots attended their rally. The Las Vegas Tea Party was a rousing success!
July 4th - Philadelphia - Independence Hall:
Over 1500 in attendance celebrating the freedom granted by our Founding Fathers in the place were our Nation was born. I am happy to report that the videos I shot at this Tea Party were broadcast live in Dallas and on Breitbart TV - Thanks to all who took a moment to share your thoughts about the meaning of today's TeaParty!
She is a woman of great potential - as startling as this move was, she is now free to fund raise for Conservative candidates across the nation. There is no doubt that Sarah Palin will be the person to watch as we move closer to 2012.
A good friend of mine had this to say about Governor Sarah Palin:
Sarah Palin epitomizes what it is to be an American Patriot. Even if we can’t all agree on whether or not she is ready to be our Commander-in-Chief (I happen to believe she was born ready), we see in her a leader with integrity, principles and conviction.
No wonder the left hates this woman - she is the antithesis of their entire belief system. She is the new face of feminism, a woman who does not need the mantle of perceived victimhood to succeed in every aspect of life.
Ric Lock composed a stunning compare and contrast regarding the phenomenon that is Sarah Palin:
Stereotype: Womyn are good Progressive Democrats. Reality: Sarah Palin is a Republican.
Stereotype: Only Democrats give power to Womyn Reality: Sarah Palin is not just a Governor, she’s Governor of a State where the Governor has real power.
Stereotype: All manly men are part of Teh Patriarchy, dedicated to preventing Womyn from achievement and deeply resentful of anything resembling a subordinate position. Reality: Todd Palin is a manly man with a manly occupation; nevertheless he seems quite cheerful and accepting that his wife's occupation is much higher on the social scale than his.
Stereotype: Good Progressive Womyn are supposed to abort their babies to prevent career difficulties, especially if they might have medical problems. Reality: Sarah Palin has several (three?) children, the latest of which has Down's Syndrome, and seems perfectly capable of handling her duties as Governor despite any child-care difficulties.
Stereotype:Patriarchal manly men don't participate in child-rearing; they force the Womyn in their lives to do it all, which is why Progressive Womyn have to avoid childbearing if possible. Reality: Todd Palin apparently participates wholeheartedly in child-rearing.
Stereotype: Winger dupes of the Patriarchy are supposed to be disgusted with childbearing out of wedlock, call such girls sluts etc., and cast them out. Reality: Bristol Palin is an unwed mother. The Palin family (all of them, including Todd and the grandparents) has been supportive.
There is more, but you get the idea the whole Palin family is a direct challenge to the Leftoids bigoted (yes, that’s what it is), stereotyped notion of what a family of right-wing God-botherers should be. Just one aspect of that, the legions of Womyn who left child-bearing off until later and now have psychological problems with it, cannot be borne in any way and must be rejected in toto.
This country needs strong female leaders like Sarah Palin - the feminist movement is dead, replaced with misogynists. There are no strong female liberal democrats that can hold up to close moral and ethical scrutiny in our age. Sarah Palin has become the standard bearer of liberated feminists and is the litmus test of this new and vibrant feminism. Whenever you encounter a feminist, just say the words 'Sarah Palin', if their carefully botoxed face melt into an unrecognizable distortion and invectives start spewing from the hole where their mouth once resided - congratulations - you've just outed another misogynist For best results, they should be ignored by all sane individuals.
I look forward to the continued progress of Governor Sarah Palin in the conservative movement. She is not playing politics as usual, I am so proud of Sarah Palin.
Obama please help us defend our constitution and freedom. Do not support the next Chavez.
Poor people, they don't understand it is people in the video below that voted for and support Obama. He won't cross his voter base, no matter what happens in Honduras.
Duane Lester author of All American Blogger requested an interview with me about blogging and new media. I had a great time talking with Duane! It was perfect timing as friends of mine have been requesting that I teach them how to get started in the online world.
